April 8&9 2005: WYP: Illinois Section AAPT and SLAPT joint meeting.

Place: Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, Edwardsville, Illinois. Traveling on 270 East in Illinois, follow the signs to campus. Map.

 

There will be three invited talks:

1. "Teaching the Current Generation of Students in the World Year of Physics", Kathy Harper, Physics Education Research Group, The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio
2. "Photonics Research", Abdullatif Hamad, Department of Physics, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville
3. "Nanostructures", Eric Voss, Department of Chemistry, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville

 

There will be three workshops running in parallel on Friday morning, April 8:

  W1.  "Waves and Color - Mostly on the Cheap", Ann Brandon and Debbie Lojkutz
  W2.  "Photoelectric Effect", Mark Schober
  W3.  "Astronomy Inquiry Activities", Rebecca Lindell and Tom Foster

Please note that the annual Student Research Symposium for high school and undergraduate students is held at the Spring meeting.
